Every preview on this page carries a faint Estamplab watermark. Your own download does not: the editor renders your stamp again, clean, as a transparent PNG, an SVG or a PDF. See the full template library.
A word watermark says what the document is. A logo watermark says whose it is, which is a different claim and the one that matters on a proposal, a set of drawings, a report or a price list going to somebody who might forward it. The logo has to be ghosted properly to work: dark enough to be unmistakable in a photocopy, light enough that the document still reads.
What you get
- Your logo instead of a word, drawn across every page of the document.
- The white background knocked out automatically, so the logo sits on the page rather than in a white box.
- A strength control, because a logo at full opacity is not a watermark, it is a page you cannot read.
- Any angle and any size, sized against the page so it looks right on A4, Letter and landscape.
- It goes over the content rather than behind it, so it survives printing and photocopying.
- Works on PDF, Word and Excel, without exporting anything first.
How to make it
- Open the tool and drop your PDF, Word or Excel file onto the page.
- Pick a stamp from your library, or design one in the pop-up designer.
- Click the page where the stamp goes, then drag it or resize it from the corner.
- Download the stamped copy. Your original file is never modified.
Questions
How faint should a logo watermark be?
Fainter than you think, and then test it by printing one page. Somewhere around 10 to 15 percent is usually right for a logo with solid areas, which carries more ink than a word does at the same setting. If the body text is harder to read, it is too strong.
My logo has a white box around it. Can that be removed?
Yes, that happens automatically on upload: the white is knocked out and what is left is the mark. It works best on a logo with a genuinely white background rather than an almost-white one, and a PNG with real transparency needs nothing done to it at all.
Should I use the full logo or just the symbol?
The symbol, almost always. A full lockup with a name and a tagline becomes unreadable at watermark strength and takes up the width of the page doing it. The symbol alone reads at a glance, which is the whole job.
Can I use a logo watermark and a company stamp together?
Yes. The logo goes across every page and the stamp goes where you place it, and the watermark is drawn over the top the way it would sit on paper.
Does it work in colour?
Yes, and on a document that will be photocopied it is worth it: a colour watermark is the fastest way to tell an original from a copy, because the copy comes back grey.
