A receipt is proof, and a stamped receipt is proof somebody stood behind. Most of the demand for this is not decorative: a tenant wants the rent receipt chopped, a customer wants the deposit slip acknowledged, a supplier wants their delivery note stamped and sent back. All of those are the same operation, and all of them are done today by printing a page and photographing it.

Questions
What should a receipt stamp say?
PAID with the date is the common one. RECEIVED with the date is for something handed over rather than paid for. If the receipt is being acknowledged by a business, the company chop plus the date is usually what the other side is looking for.
Does a stamped receipt count as proof of payment?
It is evidence of acknowledgement, which is what a receipt is for, and it is treated the way a stamped paper receipt is treated. Where a specific form of receipt is required by law or by a regulator, that requirement comes from them and is worth checking locally.
Can I number the receipts?
Yes. Turn on the serial and it steps on by itself each time you use the stamp, so a run of receipts comes out numbered in sequence rather than all carrying the same number.
Can I stamp a photo of a receipt?
Save the photo as a PDF first, then upload that. The stamp goes onto the page the same way.
