Every preview on this page carries a faint Estamplab watermark. Your own download does not: the editor renders your stamp again, clean, as a transparent PNG, an SVG or a PDF. See the full template library.

Most contracts are signed and stamped in the same place: the execution block on the last page, where the parties are named. A company stamp there does one job, which is to say that the person signing is signing for the company rather than for themselves. That is why counterparties ask for it, and it is why an unstamped copy comes back with a question attached.

Questions

Where does the stamp go on a contract?

On the execution page, in or beside the signature block for your side. If both parties are stamping, each stamps beside their own signature rather than over the other.

Should every page be stamped?

Only if the parties agreed to initial or stamp each page, which is common where pages could be swapped after signature. The tool will put one on every page in a single action if so.

Is a stamped contract binding?

What makes a contract binding is agreement between the parties and, where required, signature. A company stamp is evidence that the signatory signed in their company capacity, and in some jurisdictions and for some document types a seal carries specific legal weight. Where a particular execution formality is required, that requirement comes from the law that governs the contract, so check it locally or with your lawyer.

Can I stamp a contract somebody sent me for signature?

Yes, and it does not change their copy: the file is opened in your browser, stamped, and downloaded as a new copy. The original you were sent is untouched.

Do I need a physical seal as well?

For most commercial contracts, no. Where a deed or a specific instrument requires an impressed or embossed seal, that requirement is set by the law of the place, and an electronic mark may not satisfy it. That is worth confirming before you rely on it.

Estamplab is a design tool. This page describes common commercial practice rather than giving legal, tax or financial advice, and practice changes. Where a specific document matters, check the requirement with the body receiving it. Only produce a mark your own organisation or your own credentials are entitled to use.
