Is the proof stamp free?
You can design a proof stamp and look at it as long as you want without paying or signing up. Downloading costs $1.50 for a PNG or JPG, or $4.50 for the pack with the vector and document formats in it.
Can I add a date to the proof stamp?
The proof stamp takes a date, a time and a serial number, in any combination. An empty date fills itself in at download; a typed one is treated as a deliberate record and left alone.
What format do I get?
A transparent PNG for dropping onto documents, plus a white-background PNG and a JPG. The $4.50 pack adds an SVG, a print-ready PDF and a Word file that keeps the date and serial as text you can retype.
Why does a proof stamp need a date?
Because artwork goes through revisions and every one of them looks like the others. A proof dated the day it was issued, and an approval dated the day it was signed, is what tells a press operator which file is current.
