Every preview on this page carries a faint Estamplab watermark. Your own download does not: the editor renders your stamp again, clean, as a transparent PNG, an SVG or a PDF. See the full template library.

A director stamp exists to answer one question: in what capacity did this person sign. A signature on its own does not say whether somebody signed as a director, as an employee, or personally, and on anything a bank or a registry handles that distinction decides whether the company is bound at all. Which is why the format is short and why the word Director is the part that matters more than the design.

Questions

What does a company director stamp say?

Three lines is the usual sample format: the director's name, then Director, then the company name as registered. Where your jurisdiction issues a director identification number, adding it is common because it is the number a registry can check. Anything longer stops being readable at the size the stamp is actually pressed.

Is a director stamp the same as the company seal?

No, and they do different work. The company seal identifies the company. The director stamp identifies the person and the capacity they signed in. Documents frequently carry both, the seal on the document and the director stamp beside the signature, and that combination is what a bank tends to expect.

Does a director stamp bind the company?

No. Authority binds the company, and the stamp is a statement about capacity rather than a grant of it. A director stamp used by somebody who is not a director is a false statement about who signed, which is the serious version of getting this wrong.

What should a private limited company director stamp show?

The same three lines, with the company name in the exact registered form including the Pvt Ltd or Limited suffix. Registries and banks compare that against the certificate of incorporation, and an abbreviated or trading name is the commonest reason a stamped document gets queried.

Can I make one for another director?

On their instruction or the company's, yes, and that is ordinary company secretarial work. Not otherwise: the stamp names a specific person acting in a specific office, so producing one for somebody who has not asked is making a statement on their behalf.
