Is a carimbo required in Brazil?

No. There is no legal obligation to own or use one. Commercial and administrative practice expects it widely enough that most companies keep one, particularly for forms handled on paper.

CNPJ or CPF?

The CNPJ identifies a company and is what belongs on a company stamp. The CPF identifies an individual, and appears on a personal or professional stamp instead.

What about the Inscrição Estadual?

Companies registered for state tax commonly add it, particularly where the stamp is used on notas fiscais or goods paperwork.
