Questions

Is a timbro required in Italy?

No statute requires one. It remains conventional across commercial and public-sector paperwork, to the point where its absence is more likely to be queried than its presence.

What is the REA number?

The Repertorio Economico Amministrativo number, assigned by the local Chamber of Commerce and written with the province code. Many company stamps carry it alongside the Partita IVA.

Partita IVA or codice fiscale?

For companies the two are often the same number. Where they differ, the Partita IVA is the one that belongs on a stamp used commercially.
