The best free online stamp makers, compared honestly
8 August 2026 ยท Estamplab
There are more free stamp makers than there used to be, and most of them are genuinely fine. This is an honest look at the main ones, including where they beat us.
A disclosure first, because it changes how you should read this: we make one of the tools listed. So the specific claims about competitors below are taken from what each company publishes about itself, and every entry says what that tool does better. If a comparison written by a vendor finds nothing good to say about anybody else, you should close it.
The short version
If you need one stamp, once, and it does not need to carry a date or a number that means anything, use one of the free ones. Several are good and you will be finished in five minutes. We would rather tell you that than take $4 from you for something you could have had free.
Where the free tools all stop is the same place: the stamp they produce is a picture. That is fine for a company seal on a letterhead and it is not fine for a received stamp, where the date is the entire point.
MyStampReady
The most established of them. A large template gallery, free-form drawing tools, and interface languages beyond English, which matters more than English speakers tend to assume.
Best for: an unusual shape you want to draw by hand, and anyone not working in English.
Stampdy
Clean and fast, aimed at people who want one stamp and no learning curve. Exports SVG, PNG, JPG, PDF, EPS and DOCX.
Best for: EPS specifically. If your printer has asked for EPS, Stampdy has it and we do not.
Stampforger
Free downloads, no signup, no watermark. For a one-off stamp that is genuinely hard to beat, and there is nothing to delete afterwards because there was never an account.
Best for: the pure one-off. Lowest friction of anything here.
StampJam
A long-running product with a published library of over 100 editable templates, and explicit Word and PDF compatibility.
Best for: browsing a big catalogue before you commit to anything.
Stamp Generator Online
A broad free template gallery with instant PNG, PDF and SVG download and no account.
Best for: template variety at zero cost.
The eSign.AI seal tool
A free seal generator attached to a signing platform.
Best for: people already signing documents there, where making the seal in the same place is one fewer tool to hold.
Where all of them stop
Every tool above, ours included, will draw you a round seal with your company name curved around the ring. That part is solved. Three things are not.
The date is fixed at design time. Put a date on a stamp from any of the free tools and you get a picture of that date. Use the stamp next Tuesday and it still says the day you made it. For a decorative seal nobody cares. For a received stamp on a tender that closed at noon, the date is the only reason the stamp exists.
There is no serial. Two impressions from the same stamp are identical, so nothing distinguishes a copy from an original. Any tool can print the text "No. 0001" onto a seal. What none of the free ones do is increment it, because incrementing requires a server that remembers.
Word output is a picture of a stamp. Most tools that offer DOCX give you an image in a document. The date and the number are pixels, so changing them means going back to the tool.
What we do differently, and what it costs
Our dates and times fill themselves in at the moment the stamp is used. A saved stamp keeps its own serial counter, incremented under a database row lock, so two tabs or two devices cannot be handed the same number. Our Word file keeps the date and serial as text you can retype.
Designing and previewing are free, with no account and no watermark. The file costs $1.50 for one format or $4 for every format zipped, paid once. There is no subscription unless you want one.
That is more than free, and if none of the three things above matter to you, then free is the better deal and you should take it.
How to choose
Ask what the stamp is for. If it is a mark on a letterhead, any tool here will do and you should pick on templates and formats. If it is a record that somebody may later have to rely on, the date and the number have to be real, and that is a different tool.
Competitor details were checked in August 2026. Pricing and features in this category change often, so open each one before deciding.
