A veterinary practice presses three different marks in a week, and they look similar enough that practices often order one and use it for everything. They are not interchangeable, and the third one has rules attached.

The three marks
The practice mark. Name, address, phone, practice registration number. It goes on invoices, letters, referral notes and vaccination cards. This is the one most practices mean when they say "the stamp".
The prescriber mark. The individual vet: name, qualification, and the registration number issued to that person. It goes beside a signature on a prescription and on a controlled drugs entry. It identifies a person, so it should not be shared between the vets in a practice.
The certificate mark. Export health certificates, official certification, statutory work. This one is governed by the certifying scheme rather than by the practice, and in many countries an official veterinarian is issued or authorised a specific mark for it. Where that is the case, the specification comes from the competent authority and not from a template.
The veterinary stamp page holds the practice and prescriber layouts.
What goes on the practice mark
Ashgrove Veterinary Surgery 18 Mill Road, Ashgrove Practice reg. 00-0000 Tel 000 000 0000
Four lines, a rectangle, and the registration number large enough to read after a photocopy. The phone number is defensible here in a way it is not on a company seal, because a vaccination card in somebody's kitchen drawer is exactly the document they will use to call you.
The vaccination card problem
Vaccination cards, passports and record books are the documents a vet mark ends up on most, and they are small, glossy, and often already crowded. Two things follow.
Keep the mark under about 45mm across, or it will not fit the box printed for it. And use a pigment ink rather than a dye on coated card, because a dye pad on a laminated surface stays wet long enough to smear when the page is closed.
The stamp shapes and sizes piece covers the size question properly.
Where a digital mark helps
Referral letters, insurance claims and lab submissions are files. Stamping them means printing, pressing and scanning, and the scan of a small mark on glossy card is the least legible thing in the file. A digital mark applied to the PDF or the Word document arrives sharp.

The honest limits
Estamplab is a design tool. This page describes common practice rather than giving veterinary, legal or regulatory advice, and practice changes. What a veterinary mark must carry, and who may certify what, is set by the authority that registered the practice and the veterinary surgeon, so check the requirement with them.
Official certification marks in particular are issued or authorised by a competent authority. Only produce a mark you are entitled to use: a registration number belongs to the practice or the person it was issued to.
