Company stamp samples: five worked layouts you can copy

"Company stamp sample" is a search for one thing: show me what the words on it actually are. So here are five, written out line by line by entity type, with what each one tends to get wrong.

1. A limited company, round
The everyday identity mark. Ring text around the outside, the number in the middle.

The mistake: using the trading name. The stamp should carry the name as registered, including LIMITED or LTD, because it is the registered entity the mark identifies. Put the trading name on the letterhead instead.
2. A limited company, rectangular
The same information as straight lines. Faster to read, easier to fit a registration number into, and what most offices actually reach for.

The mistake: adding the phone number. It changes, the stamp does not, and a stamp with a dead number quietly misdirects people for years. The reasoning is in what size a company stamp should be, and what colour.
3. An LLC

The mistake: calling it a corporate seal on the mark itself when the entity is an LLC. Whether an LLC needs a seal at all is a separate question, and mostly the answer is no.
4. A sole trader

The mistake: styling it to look like a company. A sole trader stamp that reads like a limited company mark misrepresents the entity, which is the one thing a business mark exists not to do. Name first, trading name second, tax number where local practice expects it.
5. A branch or a second office

The mistake: two branches with identical stamps. If more than one office presses a mark, each mark should say which office, or the record cannot answer where a document came from.
What every company stamp sample has in common
Three things, and only three are needed:
- The registered name, exactly as registered.
- The registration number, which is the line somebody can actually check. A decorative crest with no number is less useful than a plain circle with one.
- The place. Town, state or jurisdiction, which is what distinguishes two companies of similar name.
Everything else is optional, and most of it is a liability because it changes.
Company stamp shape: round or rectangular
A circle reads as identity and is what most of the world expects from a company mark. A rectangle reads faster and holds more text. Neither is more official. The full argument is in stamp sizes and shapes, and the ring layout specifically in round stamps and circular seals.
Size: about 38 to 56mm across for a round mark, roughly 56 by 22mm for a rectangle.

The honest limits
