Europe is not one market for this. A company stamp means something different in Germany, France, Spain and Poland, and the guides that pick one country and write as though it applied everywhere are the reason people put the wrong thing on the mark.
Nowhere in Western Europe legally requires a company to own a stamp. Everywhere in it, somebody will ask you for one, so the useful question is what yours should carry in your country.

What changes between countries
Germany. The Firmenstempel is rectangular by convention, and carries the full company name with the legal form, the address, and the Handelsregister number with its registering court, written as "HRB 12345, Amtsgericht München". The VAT identification number goes on if the stamp touches invoices. There is a German page and a post written in German.
Switzerland looks German and is not: the number is a UID in the form CHE-123.456.789, the commercial register is cantonal rather than national, and the orthography uses ss and never ß. In German.
France has three words where English has one. The tampon is the object, the cachet is the company's mark on the document, the sceau is the solemn seal. What you are asked for is the cachet, and it carries the dénomination sociale with the legal form (SARL, SAS, SA), the SIRET, and the head office address. In French, and the French page.
Spain and Italy favour a round mark carrying the company name, the tax identification number (NIF or CIF in Spain, Partita IVA in Italy) and the registered office. Pages: Spain, Italy.
Poland expects the NIP and often the KRS number, and the rectangular form is standard. Poland.
The Nordics and the Netherlands use stamps least of all, and where one appears it usually carries the registration number and little else. Netherlands, Sweden, Finland.
The one thing common to all of them: the registration number is the line that matters, because it is the only thing on the mark that anybody can verify. It is also the line people set smallest.

eIDAS, and what a stamp is actually doing
Across the EU, eIDAS establishes that a record is not invalid purely because it is electronic, and defines tiers of electronic signature: simple, advanced, and qualified, the last carrying the equivalent legal effect of a handwritten signature.
Worth being precise about what that means for a stamp. Those rules are about signatures and records, not about stamps. A stamp attached to an electronic record inherits the record's status; it does not get its own. In most European commercial practice the stamp is an identification convention rather than an execution requirement, and what binds the document is the signature. Multilingual businesses
A Swiss or Belgian company writes to different customers in different languages, and a stamp that exists in one language looks foreign on the other documents. With a rubber die that is two or three separate orders. Digitally it is the same template adjusted twice, which costs nothing to keep.

Common questions
Is a company stamp required in Europe?
No country in Western Europe requires one by law. It remains widely expected in commercial practice, and requirements for specific documents are set locally, so check with the body receiving the document.
What should a European company stamp include?
The registered company name with its legal form, the registration number used in that country (Handelsregister, SIRET, NIF, NIP, KvK), and usually the registered address. Add the VAT number if the stamp goes on invoices.
Does eIDAS make a digital stamp legal?
eIDAS is about electronic signatures and records rather than stamps. It establishes that an electronic record is not invalid for being electronic, which is what lets a stamped PDF stand in the same place a stamped page would. It does not give the stamp itself independent force, and neither does anything else.
Can I make a company stamp in my own language?
Yes, in any language and any script, including accented characters and non-Latin ones. There are posts written in German, French, Spanish and Turkish.
Which shape should a European company stamp be?
